Report for April 2010
Hello fellow LIBBA members.
First of all I would like to thank Leslie Jorden of Mid Island
Surfcasters for conducting a thorough audit of LIBBA's books
for 2009, her time and effort are very well appreciated. A
copy of her audit report is posted in this section for you
to read.
Last year LIBBA's fundraising was a successful endeavor despite
the bad economy, and even though we ended the year with a
small net loss, this was due to LIBBA paying in December some
show related January costs for the coming year. The work of
this LIBBA board and those members who support us is to be
commended.
Our total income for 2009 was $56,444.56. Much of this income
came from several of the usual large LIBBA events. The biggest
was the Jamboree with $14, 251.00. Next came the Scholarship
Dinner in November, with $9.775.00 generated. Raffles at the
shows & Annual meeting generated $3003.00. Also the surf
seminer in April 2009 generated $1405.00. The Balance of income
came from dues, $24, 480.00, LIBBA properties $1926.00 ( this
excludes the Jamboree sales include in the figure above),
and pure donations from the membership of $1007.32. The balance
of income came from smaller items list on our Profit &
Loss.
Statement
Our expenses for the year was $57,514.56. Several large line
items were the cost of insurance, maintaining & storing
LIBBA's Truck, $4523.17, derby Prizes $2498.15, Regular Liability
Insurance $3760.24, Cost of running the Jamboree & the
Jamboree Cash Raffle 10,001.06, Meeting expenses including
the annual meeting & monthly board meetings 3861.33, Mailings
to the membership, letters & postcards 3,198.42, Office
supplies for membership & related bookkeeping 3544.17,
purcheses of LIBBA properties( Sweatshirts, tee shirts, etc.)
4377.00, Scholarship awards $3,500.00, Scholarship Dinner
expense for Atlantis $6581.59, Show expenses ( We did three
of them) $1893.34. Lastly plaques for our members, our public
supporters, several funeral donations for long time members
was $2063.51. The Balance of expenses were for smaller line
items on our profit & loss statement for 2009 were all
less then $1000.00.
Again I want to thank the board for all there work in our
fund raising endeavors, the moneys spend support the membership,
but more important support LIBBA's mission of Beach Conservation
and maintaining access for our ORVs.
