IN MEMORY OF JAMES KEVIN ANDERSON

On August 11, 2010, my brother-in-law and I went on the fishing boat, Captain Dave out of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.  I had a bouquet of flowers with me.You see, I just lost my dearly beloved big brother on July 21, 2010.  He was an avid party boat fisherman.  I wanted to pay a tribute to my brother by placing flowers in the ocean in memory of him since he loved the ocean so much.

Captain Frank Dario who captained the boat, Captain Dave inquired as I boarded the boat about the flowers.  I informed the Captain about the loss of my big brother. Captain Dario started the fishing boat and navigated it towards the Rockaway jetty and just when we crossed the jetty into the ocean, he put the boat in neutral and announced over the loudspeaker for a  moment of silence while I, my brother-in-law and the crew placed flowers in the ocean in memory of my beloved brother.

This moment meant so much to me and my family for what Captain Frank Dario of the Captain Dave did because it was not planned.  I will never forget it.  It will be held in my heart forever.  This shows that when you are a fisherman or fisherwoman, you belong to a bigger family.  And Captain Dave and his great crew, Buddy, Paul and a young mate showed their respect for one of their own, a fisherman.  My thanks go out to Captain Dave, Captain Frank Dario and his crew.
