Way too many people take Beach Access for granted.

They just don’t realize that there are so many people and groups that do not want Us on “ their beach” or any beach in general. It does not matter to them that we believe in conservation and ecology.

This is why SUPPORT of groups like LIBBA is so very important. It is a big voice for people who fish Long Island’s Beaches.

Still, too many times I hear that there are LI surf fishermen that think LIBBA is “doing a bad job” or “not helping with beach access“, or even, “all they worry about is their Jamboree“. The craziest part is that all the ones saying things like this, I NEVER see at any of our monthly meetings, or at any beach clean ups and grass plantings that LIBBA does every year! If you are a paid member and you are of these opinions, I urge you to come to one of our monthly meetings and voice your criticism and opinions. Give us a chance to answer it. Different ideas and views can help to make this Organization stronger! Also, you can have the chance to meet the Directors and see for yourself how they GIVE their time and efforts. They are truly good people who only want to better beach access despite the bird closings and all the erosion Long Island has suffered this year! Stop throwing rocks from the outside! Come in and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
